Footsteps through Lent...

[Easter Sunday | Apr 4th]

Reflect

Alleluia!

Today we celebrate the greatest joy of all in the life of the Church... the fact that Jesus rised from the dead!

Every great story has a hero who saves the day. We saw this on Good Friday.

But every great story also has something else...

..a Happy Ending.

And that's what we get on Easter Sunday.

The one who had come to teach the world how to love, and to redeem mankind had been cruely taken away from his disciples. To them, everything was lost. But not for God.

God loved us too much for the story to end in death, and so as he had prmoised long ago, he raised Jesus for all the world to see.

'On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!' [Luke 24: 1-6]

Pray

Loving Father,

You loved us so much that you gave your only Son to teach us, to heal us, to love us and to die for us.

You loved us so much that you did all this for us, and you loved us so much that you just couldn't let it end there.

Help us to live the joy of Easter each and every day of our lives.

Amen.
