Holy Saturday is a day of waiting.
For Jesus disciples on the day after he was crucified, it was a day of anxious agony. It was a day when they really didn't know what to expect or what would happen next.
For us today, it's a bit different. Because we are only remembering the events rather than going throgh them live, we know how it turns out. We know that Jesus' death wasn't the end.
Perhaps, for us, today is a little exciting. We are waiting for the great celeration that we know will come. But as we wait, it's essential to try and remember what the disciples back then were going through.
Jesus' disciples had followed him for about three years. They had left everything for him and given their lives to him. They had hung on his every word, and all of a sudden all of that had died.
They didn't know what was coming next. All they knew for sure, on that day, was that everything they loved had gone.
 Pray
Loving Father,
We pray for all those in the world who have lost something dear to them.
We pray especially today for all those who have lost their faith.
Bring them all to the joy of your resurrection.
Amen.
 Challenge
Your challenge for today is to wait!
