Today is the Feast of St. Joseph.
Joseph was the husband of Mary, the Mother of Christ. He is one of the most important figures in the history of our faith and one of the real unsung heroes of the Gospel.
Joseph wasn't directly involved in that many of the Gospel stories. Over the entire life of Jesus, it might seem as though he was a sort of supporting player, rather than a main character.
Joseph was far more than that though, because Joseph is one of the greatest examples you will find anywhere of what it means to stick by the ones you love.
He stood by Mary and Jesus even though he knew that the road ahead would be a difficult one. He showed Jesus a Father's love, and he gave Mary all the support and care in the world.
 Pray
Loving Father,
Help us to follow the example of St. Joseph and to stick by the people we love.
Help us to show them all the love, care and support that we possibly can.
Amen.
 Challenge
Your challenge today is to tell somebody in your family how much you appreciate them.
