Footsteps through Lent...

[Monday Mar 15th]

Reflect

The Psalm in today's Mass says this:

'I will praise you God, for you have rescued me.'

Throughout the Bible there are people who recognise something good that God has done for them and so they turn to God and give him thanks and praise.

There is a lesson in this for us. Too often in life, we turn to God when we've got a problem, but we forget all about him when things are going well. It's as though God is a sort of doctor or car mechanic, who we only go to when something isn't working quite right!

Maybe we can use Lent as a chance to bring God into the good times in life as well as the bad times.

Pray

Loving Father,

Help me not to shut you away in a small corner of my life, where I only visit when times are dark and help is needed.

But instead help me to bring you along with me for everything, and help me to recognise all the good things that you do.

Help me to be grateful and happy.

Amen.

Challenge

Your challenge today is to stop at some point during the day and thank God for something good that happens.

You will almost certainly think of something!
