Footsteps through Lent...

[Friday Mar 12th]

Reflect

This passage from Mark's Gospel (Chapter 12) is used in today's Gospel Reading at Mass:

'One of the scribes came up to Jesus and put a question to him, "Which is the first of all the commandments?" Jesus replied, "This is the first: Liste, Israel, the Lord our God is the one Lord, and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You must love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.'

This is a pretty amazing teaching of Jesus, and it is reinforced again and again in the New Testament. Jesus is telling us that love is the key. Loving God, and loving one another.

But, do we really do this in our lives? Do we really love God and love each other as we should?

Pray

Loving Father,

Your love created us and gave us everything that we have. You care for us more than we could ever imagine, and your love for us is a force so powerful that nothing could ever match it.

Help us to use the love you give us wisely, generously and beautifully. Help us to love you and help us to love the people around us.

Amen.

Challenge

Your chalenge today is simply to be grateful and happy... :)
