Footsteps through Lent...

[Third Sunday of Lent | Sunday Mar 7th]

Reflect

Today is Sunday.

Yesterday we thought about the fact that, for most people, Saturday is a day of leisure an relaxation.

For Christians, Sunday is a day given over to God. It's a day when we are asked to focus ourselves on God and to remind ourselves that he is at the centre of our lives.

Just as we need Saturday to chill out at the end of a week, we need Sunday to focus ourselves.

Sunday lets us bring everything in the week that has just gone before God, and to prepare ourselves for the week that lies ahead.

To help us in doing this, the Church asks us to go to Mass each Sunday and to take part in the great celebration that Jesus left to his disciples at the last supper.

Pray

Loving Father,

We thank you for the week we have had and we trust the week ahead to your love and kindness.

Help us to use this day to grow closer to you and to celebrate your love in our lives.

Amen.

Challenge

Your challenge today is to go to Mass.

This was your challenge a few weeks ago. Since this is something that Catholics are meant to do on a Sunday, it's kind of an easy challenge really.

Today at Mass, try to talk to God about the week ahead. Place everything that's going to happen into his loving hands. Ask him for help with the things that you think are going to be tricky, and ask him for guidance in the decisions that lie ahead.

Amen.
