At the start of today's Gospel (from Mathew 20) Jesus predicts his death and the suffering that he will have to endure.
Part of the purpose of Lent is to prepre us for Easter, but Lent is also to prepare us for Holy Week when Jesus was arrested, tried and crucified.
Jesus suffered a great deal. One of the key beliefs of our faith is that Jesus suffered and died for us. He paid the price for the things we had done wrong so that we might know his love and find a way back to God.
 Pray
Loving Father,
You loved us so much that you chose to walk among us, and you chose to suffer and die for us.
As we go through Lent and prepare for Holy Week, help us to remember those events at the heart of our faith.
Help us to be grateful for the things you have done for us, and help us to use Holy Week to come closer and closer to you.
 Challenge
Your challenge today is to try to remember the things that happened in Holy Week. Have a think about what happened at the Last Supper, what happened in the Garden of Gethsemane, and what happened on Good Friday...
You might want to look in a bible (or google it) afterwards to see how much you got right.
