Footsteps through Lent...

[Thursday Feb 25th]

Reflect

From today's Gospel...

'Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek and you wil find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. For the one who asks always receives...'

These words in Matthew's Gospel show Jesus teaching us about prayer. He reminds us that God never ignores a prayer and that prayer is a vital part of Christian life.

Prayers aren't always answered in the way we expect, and not always in the time that we expect, but we can be sure that God will never ignore us when we turn to him.

Do you always pray as much as you should? Do you always take time to talk to God, or does it get lost in the middle of a busy day?

If your prayer life has gone a bit pear-shaped lately, then Lent is a good time to get it back on track...

Pray

Loving Father,

We thank you for lovingly creating us and we thank you for always listening to our prayers.

Help us never to forget your presence beside us and help us to always make time for you in our day.

Amen.

Challenge

Your task today is to put aside ten minutes for prayer.

Use the time to share with God. Tell him what's happening to you at the moment and ask him to help you with the things you're struggling with.
